SPIRITUAL INTERPRETATION OF THE 23RD PSALM
The 23rd Psalm from the Old Testament is as follows:
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in Sgreen pastures. He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his names sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
A spiritual interpretation is as follows:
I request you, guidance, to assist me in all my endeavors. I have faith that with your assistance everything is and will be all right and that all my needs and wants are and will be fulfilled; that I am able to rest and sleep, trusting that I will be able to cope with tomorrow. You renew me with your presence. You assist me in understanding and respecting myself and others, to look upon life's opportunities positively and confidently, and cleanse and heal myself and others. With your assistance I am able to be good, kind and loving to myself and others and create a positive and rewarding life of service both here and hereafter.
